Dakshina Kannada District Panchayat School Education Department (Mangaluru North Zone) and St. Aloysius College Higher Primary School organised District Level Swimming Competition on 25th September 2024 St Aloysius Swimming Pool.The event saw an enthusiastic participation from multiple schools across the district.
The inauguration of the event took place in the St. Aloysius College Primary School auditorium.It commenced with the State Anthem. Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, the Correspondent of the School, presided over the event. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. James Cutinho, Block Education Officer, Mangaluru North Zone. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Taluk-level Physical Education Officer Mr. Bharath, Mrs. Cheluvamma, Grade-1 Physical Director Officer, Mr. Lokraj Vittal, Chief Referee, Headmistress Jositta Noronha, PTA Vice President Mr. Victor Serrao, President of the Alumni Association Mr. Christopher Dsouza and We One Aqua Centre Incharge Mr. Naveen and Mrs. Roopa Prabhu.
The Headmistress, Ms. Jositta Noronha warmly welcomed the dignitaries, competitors, benefactors, teachers, parents and students. The event was formally inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
During his address, the chief guest, Mr. James Cutinho, praised St. Aloysius Primary School for its initiative in organizing the competition. He emphasized the importance of swimming as a valuable exercise for both mental and physical health.
Taluk-level Physical Education Officer Mr. Bharath, in his speech, highlighted the importance of both education and sports in a student’s life. He also honoured Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ and Headmistress Jositta Noronha with certificate of appreciation for their efforts in organizing the competition.
In his speech, Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ encouraged the students to embrace swimming, an exercise benefiting physical fitness.
The event was also attended by prominent guests including Ms. Lilly Pais, President of the Karnataka State Physical Education Teachers Association, Mr. Harish Rai, Secretary of District Physical Education Teachers Association and Mr. Bhuvanesh, District Physical Education Officer.
The competition featured exciting contests across multiple categories and the results were as follows:

ದಿನಾಂಕ ೨೫-೯-೨೪ ರಂದು ೨೦೨೪-೨೫ ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಕಛೇರಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಉತ್ತರ ವಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆ ಕೊಡಿಯಾಲ್ಬೆöÊಲ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರ ಜಂಟಿ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಫ್ರೌಡಶಾಲಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಬಾಲಕ ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ ಈಜು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯು ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಈಜುಕೊಳ ಕೊಡಿಯಾಲ್ಬೆöÊಲ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು.ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಅನೇಕ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈಜು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ೧೦ ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ನಾಡಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ವಂದನೀಯ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಜೋನ್ಸನ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ ಇವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಉತ್ತರ ವಲಯದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಜೇಮ್ಸ್ಕುಟಿನ್ನೊ , ತಾಲೂಕು ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಭರತ್ ,ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಚೆಲುವಮ್ಮ ,ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ರಕ್ಷಕ ಸಂಘದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ವಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಸೆರಾವೋ , ಹಳೆವಿಧ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಟೋಫರ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ , ಈಜುಕೊಳದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಯತ ನವೀನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೂಪ ಪ್ರಭು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೊಸಿಟ ನೊರೊನ್ನಾ ನೆರೆದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಸ್ಥಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾತಾನಾಡಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೇಮ್ಸ್ ಕುಟಿನ್ನೊ ರವರು ಈಜು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂಧಿಸಿದರು. “ಈಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈಸಬೇಕು ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿಜಯಿಸಬೇಕು”ಎಂದು ಕಿವಿಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ತಾಲೂಕು ಮಟ್ಟದ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಭರತ್ರವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗಳೆರಡು ಬಹು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದುವು ಎಂದು ಅದರ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಈಜು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಿನಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಕೊಟ್ಟು ಗೌರವಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸ್ಥಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾತಾನಾಡಿದ ಫಾ ಜೋನ್ಸನ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಲು ಈಜು ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕು. ಈಜು ದೇಹದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಯಾಮವನು ್ನಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಲೀಯಾ ಡಿಸೋಜರವರು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.
