St Aloysius College Higher Primary School Annual Sports Meet 2024-25: A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Unity.
Mangaluru, November 22: St Aloysius College Higher Primary School proudly hosted its much-anticipated Annual Sports Meet 2024-25 at Mangala Stadium. The event was a magnificent celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork and the school’s unwavering commitment to holistic education.
The opening witnessed the dignitaries’ ceremonial arrival, escorted by the school band with its rhythmic beats and a well-coordinated Scouts march. Leading the Chief guest Mr. Manoj Kumar, Mayor of Mangaluru City, Correspondent and President of the event Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, Headmistress Ms. Jositta Noronha, PTA Cultural Secretary Ms. Roopashree, SPL Bavish M and ASPL Rishon Steve D Sa. The Scouts , in a slow march, gave the dignitaries a traditional and honourable welcome.
The event commenced with a vibrant parade by the house contingents-Red, Yellow, Green and Blue, led by their respective house leaders. The synchronized march-past, a stunning display of discipline and pride, saw the students saluting the dignitaries with heads held high and hearts brimming with enthusiasm. The school flag was then hoisted by the Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Kumar, symbolizing the start of the day’s competitions.
The school choir set a serene and uplifting tone with a melodious prayer song, invoking blessings for a successful day. Ms. Jositta Noronha delivered the welcome address, while the ceremonial torch run, a symbol of unity and perseverance, captivated everyone’s attention. Teacher Irene Pais introduced the Chief Guest, who was felicitated and honoured by the dignitaries.
In his inspiring address, Mr. Manoj Kumar praised the tradition of the school and expressed admiration for the students’ vibrant and disciplined performances. The energy and precision of the march-past reflected the dedication to fostering talent and character. The Sports Day was officially declared open by the chief guest.
Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, in his motivational message, emphasized the importance of balancing academics with extracurricular pursuits. “Participation matters more than winning, as sports teach invaluable life lessons of resilience and teamwork,” he reminded the students. Sports leader Mayola Primal Pinto then led the athletes in the solemn oath-taking ceremony, pledging fairness and sportsmanship.
Adding a cultural touch to the occasion, the Class 5 students delivered a spellbinding performance to the song “We are the Dreamers”. The athletic events, the highlight of the day, saw students competing with boundless energy and unrelenting determination.
The following students emerged as individual champions:
• Class 5: Shaswath and Grace Ajith
• Class 6: Lanwil Kenneth D’Souza and Nidhi Kiran Sirsikar
• Class 7: Kaushal Banjan and Sherona D’Souza
The Blue House secured the overall championship trophy with an impressive tally of 116 points, igniting jubilant celebrations among its members.
The closing ceremony, was graced by Rev. Fr. Balraj SJ, the Secretary and Treasurer of MJES, Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, Ms. Jositta Noronha, Mrs. Roopashree, SPL Bavish Mohandas, and ASPL Rishon Steve D Sa. The dignitaries marched to the stage amidst resounding applause, setting the stage for a memorable conclusion.
The ceremony opened with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome address by Ms. Jositta Noronha. Rev. Fr. Balraj SJ, in his address, underscored the importance of physical fitness and the spirit of sportsmanship. He encouraged students to embrace an active lifestyle and strive for excellence not just locally but on international platforms.
The much-awaited Prize distribution ceremony saw the winners of the 4x100m relay and individual champions receiving medals, trophies and certificates amidst thunderous cheers from their peers. The joy on the winners and the camaraderie among the houses embodied the true essence of sportsmanship.
In a solemn moment, the school flag was lowered by Rev. Fr. Balraj SJ and was handed over to the Headmistress, symbolizing the official closure of the meet. The ceremonial torch, which had been ablaze throughout the day was extinguished by Mr. Padmanabam, marking the end of the event.
The programme was seamlessly compered by Ms. Shoba Pinto and Ms. Poornima, while Mr. Liya D’Souza expressed gratitude in a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving an indelible impression on all present.
The Annual Sports Meet 2024-25 was not merely a celebration of physical prowess but also a testament to the vision of the school nurturing well-rounded individuals ready to take on challenges with vigour and determination.

ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕೂಟವು ನವಂಬರ್ ೨೨ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ೯ ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಮಂಗಳ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ಮೇಯರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಮನೋಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಜೊನ್ಸನ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾದ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಜೊಸಿಟಾ ನೊರೊನ್ನಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ರಕ್ಷಕ ಸಂಘದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕöÈತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೂಪಶ್ರೀ , ಶಾಲಾನಾಯಕ ಭವಿಷ್ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪನಾಯಕ ರಿಶೋನ್ ಡೆಸಾ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟವು ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಪಥಸಂಚಲನದೊAದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಕೆಂಪು , ಹಳದಿ, ಹಸಿರು ಮತ್ತು ನೀಲಿ ಬಣ್ಣದ ತೊಡುಗೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬೆರಗುಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಶಾಲಾ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣವನ್ನು ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮನೋಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ರವರು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೊಸಿಟ ನೊರೊನ್ನಾರವರು ನೆರೆದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ನೂತನ ಮೇಯರ್ರವರನ್ನು ಶಾಲು ಹೊದಿಸಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಸ್ಥಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾತಾನಾಡಿದ ಮೇಯರ್ ಮನೋಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತ ಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಮಾತಾನಾಡಿದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರು ಗೆಲುವಿಗಿಂತ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗಳು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಜೀವನದ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಸಂಜೆ ೪ ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟದ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಜರುಗಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಎಮ್. ಜೆ ಯಿ ಎಸ್ ಇದರ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಬಾಲರಾಜ್ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ ಇವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯರಾದ ಫಾ| ಜೊನ್ಸನ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ , ಜೊಸಿಟ ನೊರೊನ್ನಾ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಸ್ಥಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾತಾನಾಡಿದ ಫಾ| ಬಾಲರಾಜ್ ರವರು ದೈಹಿಕ ಸದೃಡತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಮನೋಭವದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಸ್ಥಳಿಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟಿçÃಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ತರಬೇಕೆಂದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡಿದರು. ನಂತರ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗಣ್ಯರು ವಿಜೇತರಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪದಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು. ಶಾಲಾ ಧ್ವಜವನ್ನು ಅವರೋಹಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ದಿನವಿಡೀ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟದ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಯನ್ನು ನಂದಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೋಭಾ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರವರು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಉಪಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರಾದ ಲೀಯಾ ಡಿಸೋಜ ರವರು ಧನ್ಯವಾದವನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ರಾಷ್ಟçಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
