Inaugural of Old Students Association – 2023

The much-anticipated Old Students Association (OSA) inauguration took place on December 3 at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School Hall. The event was a nostalgic reunion of former students, filled with moments of reflection, celebration, and promise for the future.

The inaugural programme commenced with a warm introduction of the Association, its objectives etc., by Celestine Vaz, setting the tone for the programme. A soulful prayer song by Veena Menezes and team followed, resonating with the spirit of unity and camaraderie.

The welcome speech by Anitha Pais, embraced attendees, fostering a sense of belonging.  She also extended a warm welcome to everyone watching the programme online.

The cultural aspect of the event was highlighted with an enchanting welcome dance by the teachers, capturing the essence of the occasion.

The stage programme unfolded, beginning with an insightful briefing about the OSA, by Jositta Noronha, the current headmistress of the school, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the association’s objectives and mission.

The introduction of the office bearers was a momentous occasion, as key figures like president, vice president and secretary, were brought forward to shoulder responsibilities and lead the association into the future. They were allotted badges as a symbol of the position conferred on them and were presented each with a sapling.

The oath-taking ceremony added a formal touch, symbolizing a commitment to uphold the values and principles of the OSA.

President Dr Christopher D’Souza took the stage, addressing the gathering with passion and enthusiasm, sharing his vision for the association.

Fr rector’s message added a spiritual dimension, emphasizing the significance of alumni engagement in the Institution’s legacy. He conveyed to the gathering that the main intention of forming OSA was to help stay connected, to share memories and to be in touch with the alma mater.

Reading the objectives of OSA by Madhukar S M, provided clarity on the association’s purpose, emphasizing its role in fostering connections, supporting the alma mater, and contributing to community development. Neil Rodrigues expressed gratitude in a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of everyone involved in making the event a success.

The event concluded on a nostalgic note with the school anthem, resonating through the venue, harmoniously sung by all present.

Attendees then proceeded to a delightful lunch, creating opportunities for networking and reminiscing about shared memories.

Later, the old students then clicked group photos recollecting sweet memories of the photos clicked during their school days.

The OSA inauguration was not merely an event; it was a celebration of enduring connections, a rekindling of school spirit, and a promising beginning for the association’s journey ahead.

The programme was beautifully conducted by Celestine Vaz.
