The Annual General Body Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at St Aloysius Higher Primary School for the academic year 2024-25 was held on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The program commenced with invoking the blessings of the Almighty through a prayer song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Jositta Noronha, the Headmistress, warmly welcomed the gathering. The chief guest of the day was Dr Kavya Shree KB who is currently serving as Dean and Assistant Professor at St. Agnes Centre for Post-Graduate Studies and Research. Dr Kavya Shree has a distinguished career marked by her dedication to psychological well-being and her significant research contributions in the fields of marriage attitudes and parent-child relationships. The stage was adorned by the dignitaries who included the former Correspondent Rev Fr John DSouza SJ, the present Correspondent Rev Fr Johnson Pinto SJ, Headmistress Ms Jositta Noronha, Vice President of the PTA Mr Victor Serrao and the Secretary Ms Shobha Pinto. The dignitaries were welcomed with saplings symbolising growth and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PTA Secretary, Ms Shobha Pinto, presented the school report, highlighting the achievements and progress made over the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Kavyashree was introduced by Ms Lysanne, the Counsellor of the School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Kavya Shree then addressed the parents on the crucial topic – “Safe and Unsafe Touch: A Guide for Parents and Educators.” She emphasized the importance of recognizing feelings of children, empowering them to say ‘No’ and seek help if they feel uncomfortable, taking precautions to create a safe environment, recognizing red flags, educating parents about online safety and implementing effective parenting measures. She concluded her session with a powerful quote, “It is not just about being a parent; it’s about being the parent every child needs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Correspondent, Rev. Fr John D’Souza SJ and the present Correspondent Rev. Fr Johnson Pinto SJ, were felicitated by the PTA team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further said ” Education without values can lead to corruption and hinder societal progress. To ensure the nation’s advancement, we must provide children with an education that integrates values, fostering a just society.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
